1. Coverage Areas
Narayan Pathology & Biopsy Centre offers doorstep Home Sample Collection services across Kanpur. Our coverage spans major residential and commercial sectors, including Sarvodaya Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Kakadeo, Swaroop Nagar, Kalyanpur, Kidwai Nagar, Civil Lines, and adjoining regions. Bookings outside these central city limits are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and depend on technician availability.
2. Collection Timings
Our home collection services are structured to cater to fasting requirements and patient convenience:
- Monday to Saturday: 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Sunday: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Pre-booked appointments only).
Patients are recommended to book slots at least 12 to 24 hours in advance, especially for early morning blood tests that require fasting (e.g., Blood Sugar Fasting, Lipid Profile).
3. Service Charges
A nominal service fee is charged for home collection visits to cover logistics and transport. The standard fee structure is:
- Within 5 km radius of Sarvodaya Nagar: Free home collection for test packages exceeding ₹500 (standard fee of ₹50 applies for lower bill amounts).
- Beyond 5 km radius: A flat fee of ₹100 is charged per collection visit, irrespective of the bill value.
All service charges are transparently listed in the billing invoice prior to confirmation.
4. Sample Handling & Safety Protocols
To ensure sample stability and accurate test profiles, we follow strict NABL quality parameters during transit:
- Samples are collected in specialized, vacuum-sealed collection tubes (vacutainers) matching diagnostic profiles.
- Tubes are immediately labeled with patient name, age, and a unique barcode system.
- Specimens are placed in temperature-controlled cold-chain boxes filled with specialized gel packs to prevent degradation during transport.
- All samples are directly logged and transferred to our main laboratory within 1 to 2 hours of drawing.
5. Delivery Time of Reports
Turnaround time (TAT) begins from the moment the sample is logged at our central laboratory:
- Standard pathology profiles (e.g., CBC, KFT, LFT, Thyroid panels): Reports are available within 6 to 12 hours.
- Biopsy and Histopathology evaluations: Advanced microscopic screenings require tissue preparation and staining, typically taking 3 to 5 working days.
6. Report Delivery Methods
Reports are provided to patients through several convenient channels:
- Digital Download: Reports can be accessed through links sent via secure SMS, Email, or WhatsApp.
- Android App: Direct report access is available on our official Google Play mobile application under the patient dashboard.
- Physical Copies: Patients can collect printed and stamped reports directly from our Sarvodaya Nagar center. We also offer postal delivery at nominal charges upon request.
7. Limitations of Domiciliary Services
While we attempt to fulfill all collection requests, certain clinical parameters cannot be sampled at home. These include tests requiring specialized dynamic evaluations (e.g., Glucose Tolerance Tests requiring hourly draws), highly sensitive culture draws, or urgent clinical assessments. In such scenarios, patients will be advised to visit our central laboratory.
